Serena Williams

The incomparable Serena Williams won her first tennis tournament at age 4 and turned pro at 14. Since then, she's won 30 Grand Slam titles, including 15 in singles, 13 in women's doubles and two in mixed doubles. Known for fighting her way back to the top of tennis from injuries that would have ended the careers of lesser competitors and other mere mortals, Williams is the most recent player to have held all four Grand Slam singles titles simultaneously. She has won four Olympic gold medals since 2000, one in women's singles and three in women's doubles, and is the first player, male or female, to achieve a Golden Grand Slam in both singles and doubles. Williams' backhand is considered to be one of the best on tour, and her powerful serve frequently exceeds 120mph.
